We are traveling all day today. For kicks and giggles let me take you through the “High”points of my day today. I woke up at 1:30 am to hop on a bus to JFK, from Philly. While waiting for the bus, the same group leader confused me with another black chick twice.(lol even though shes about 6 inches shorter than me and about 6 shades lighter lmao, somethings never change. But I must say, I find it amazing that in a group of 60 people, 6 of which who are black and 3 of which who are girls, we all still look alike? idk I wonder how that will go over in Africa? :) After the bus ride we hoped on a plane to Johannesburg for those of you who don’t know that’s a 16 hour flight…….. in the words of the infamous philosopher D.L. Hugley, “I CAN’T THINK OF SHIT I WANNA DO FOR 16 HOURS”  Once we arrived in Joburg we hoped on a plane for Gaborone, Botswana, luckily this flight was not nearly as long. After we collected the luggage that they remembered to put on the plane, and filled out reports for missing luggage, we hoped on another bus to Serowe. We willl reamin in serowe for a few days to go through some medical clearances, some more PST stuff, and then we are shipped of to our host families where we will have a matching ceremony, and we will officially begin our life as Peace corps trainees, NO not Volunteers, I’m not officially a volunteer yet.

Lol look at the weird way I wrote the date. Its not weird, its just the way they write the date here. Dd/mm/yy. I’m not really sure what to talk about. We haven’t really been doing much. It Pre-Service Training (PST) is very tedious. Its kind of like that first week of school where all you do is read the syllabus and discuss the rules, I hope training is a bit more stimulating. FYI the more work I have to do the shorter these little post will be.  I should be careful what I wish for, training may turn out to be to much, lol. When I first arrived I’m not sure how I felt. I wasn’t very sociable, I find it to be pointless right now. Although I’m sure my fellow volunteers are great people, I’m not really interested in getting to know them…. I’m pretty sure I know them, all of them. Its weird but being here kind of reminds me of the environment at Amherst, those of you who know me, know how I feel about that. I wish I were  more familiar with the land, people, language and customs so that I could break off and explore on my own. It seems weird to me that in a place so different so brilliant so astonishingly beautiful people would continue to surround them selves, and seek out the monotonous, boring lifeless humdrum of  American traditions, peoples, etc. I’m ready, to explore to do something different, say something a different language, know different people. I’m ready to do everything but see a lion. CLAP CLAP @ tip top lmao.  And they gave me a cell phone today soooooo. If you wanna call me my number is75908298 and the country code is 267….. but I’m to lazy to register it right now so give me a few days before you call me. Oh yeah and you kinda have to buy a calling card, unless you have free international calling to Botswana, lmao.
